Officially Unofficial Chicago Exhibition 2009 uncut Poster signed and numbered 7/44 by artist Ray Noland
"Last December, Nathan Mason/Dept. of Cultural Affairs of the City of Chicago reached out to me about curating an Obama art show in Chicago this spring. He mentioned that he wanted an exhibition of independent grassroots efforts as well as an official perspective from the campaign. Recently thereafter, Scott Thomas/The Post Family, former Obama for America Design Director also reached out to me expressing his thoughts of a possible show. Since our first meeting, we have united and are currently co-curating and planning the Officially Unofficial - Inspired Art for Obama exhibition. With the aid of Ken Harman/Obama Art Report and Hal Elliot Wert we are looking to house a collection of more than 150 works from Chicago and across the country."
"The show will feature several facets of the visual campaign including Ray Noland's GoTellMama! poster series and art tour across the U.S., Shepard Fairey's now iconic Hope poster, the Manifest Hope series, and Sol Sender who developed the campaign's official logo and branding. The result was a separate but united project that ultimately aided in the successful election to office of Barack Obama."
